 The 2001
Australian Festival Cup will feature some of the best Australian Rules Football Team in
the USA. The Australian Festival Cup (formerly the Australian Grand Final Festival) is now
in its 4th year, with the Nashville Kangaroos being the perinnial brides maids. In 1998
& 1999 the Cincinnati Dockers won back to back beating Nashville in both with North
Carolina storming home in overtime to beat the Nashville Kangaroos in 2000. The Festival
Cup has attracted a wide range audience ranging from Festival goer to Press alike.
Australian Rules Football is 150 years old and a cultural feature of the Land Down Under.
The Festival Cup will provide a great lead up tournament to
the USAFL National Championship with each team getting 4 matches - (3 matches and a
placement match) - with the same guidelines as the Nationals. We are expecting crowds of
around 10,000 to attend the festival with plenty of press coverage as well. To add - the
Australian Festival not only provides a great Aussie Rules tournament for each
participating team, but also has plenty to do for the whole family including Animals Down
Under, Kids Down Under, Outback Aussie Food Court and the Outback entertainment stage.
The Australian Festival is a fantastic showcase of
Australia and Australian Football. We look forward to you and your team joining us in
